New hobby unlocked: perfumery!

Hi friends!

It’s Halloween season and my nightmare is coming true: I’M BOOKED AND BUSY AGAIN!!! How??? Well, I decided to pick up on a new hobby (perfumery), then I started taking a bunch of perfumery classes (still am), and now I’m back to hosting events!

I’m hosting 2 events in November. I was smart enough to limit the guest list and the duration of both events, so I don't have to be “on” for too long. But holy shit, it’s so easy to slip back into my previous pattern of going hard then going home - and staying home - for months. I know building new habits take time, but I gotta put the brakes on this knowing that the holiday season is near and I still want to upload more podcast eps before the year ends.

I’m grateful for these new opportunities. I’m also grateful for the new social connections that came into my life this year, all stemmed from new experiences that I sought out and created for myself. As an introvert-leaning ambivert, it’s taken a lot for me to put myself out there, even when I’m feeling exhausted and disappointed. I’m happy to see my effort paying off!

That’s it for now! I’m going to listen to some jazz and maybe watch some scary movies to get in the Halloween spirit!

Fashion

statement buckle boots

Princess Polly

I’m really into big boots lately. I like that these boots are a bit flared out instead of the classic calf-hugging silhouette. I think these look so cute paired with a simple top and skirt or shorts.

Music

I had a tiny crash out the other day because I learned that a song I’ve been listening to was AI-generated. Nothing can make me crash out as quickly as identifying AI-generated content, especially when it comes to music. I literally felt like I was punched in the gut and proceeded to listen to old music to cleanse my ears.

Spotify suggested this song to me and I’m praying that it's not AI. I don’t know much about Chinese pop, but I do love the PC music influences in this song. It reminds me of early SOPHIE and A. G. Cook.
